I was 19 when I became a mother. Twenty years old when I designed my very first baby book – for my own daughter.
At an age when many are still figuring out who they are, I was figuring out diapers, sleepless nights, milestones, and the beautiful chaos of those first precious years. I wanted a way to capture the magic, the messes, the memories – not just as a list of dates, but as a story worth holding onto. That’s how Baby Book: Star is Born came to life.
At the same time, I desperately needed an outlet for my creativity. Naturally, most of my thoughts were still about my baby, so it made perfect sense that my “art project” would be dedicated entirely to her tiny socks, first smile, and those endless cuddles. I couldn’t find a baby book that felt real – most were either too generic, covered in glitter, or didn’t leave enough space for photos, memories, or the messy little everyday moments that make those first years so unforgettable.
I wanted something simple and clean, without too many colours or pre-filled pictures, so parents could fill it in with their own stories, photos, and memories – basically a blank canvas for life’s little masterpieces (or disasters, because let’s be honest, life with a baby is a bit of both).
It wasn’t meant to become anything more than a personal keepsake, but it reflected values that remain at the heart of SEIK: simplicity, mindfulness, and intentional living. Every page was designed to create space for memory, reflection, and connection, turning the everyday into something meaningful.
What started as a small, very personal project soon resonated with other parents. Today, Baby Book: Star is Born is available in over ten languages, with more than 50,000 copies finding homes around the world.
More than a product, it’s a reminder to slow down, notice the little things, and treasure moments that really matter – even the ones that leave you covered in baby food at 7 a.m. It’s a book about life, love, and the beautiful chaos in between, and it reflects everything we value at SEIK: living intentionally, mindfully, and with space for the things that truly matter.
